Austin Stewart is an employment attorney who brings a unique background to his legal advocacy. Born in West Texas and raised in North Texas, Austin now calls Overland Park home. He was drawn to the law by a deep commitment to equity and working-class justice.
Austin earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where he concentrated in Health Law. He served as president of the Criminal Law Club and treasurer of the American Constitution Society. He was selected as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow and completed a 200-hour service project with the Tulsa County Public Defender’s Office. While there, his project supported low-level drug offenders in accessing recovery resources through a holistic defense initiative.
After law school, Austin joined the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office in Johnson County, Kansas, representing indigent clients facing felony charges. He conducted legal research, drafted motions, negotiated plea agreements and took cases to trial.
Prior to his legal career, Austin earned his master’s degree in applied linguistics, graduating magna cum laude. He taught English as a Second Language at both the secondary and university levels, an experience that continues to inform how he practices law.
Austin now practices employment law with Doyle and Bruce, where he advocates for workers facing injustice in the workplace. He is passionate about making the legal system more accessible and humane for the clients he serves.
Austin is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas state courts and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
